Reseña del Documental HUELLA Y CAMINO en boletín oficial de la Comisión Fílmica Colombiana Location Colombia

Huella y camino co-produced by Spain, Italy and Colombia

For the first time in Madrid, the documentary Huella y camino: Juan Pablo II, 25 años después de su visita a Colombia directed by Jose Ignacio Penagos screened before participants at World Youth Day 2011. The 43-minute film was co-produced by Spain’s InFocusMadrid, Infocus SAS of Colombia and Italy’s San Pietro Films and received support from the Colombian embassy in Vatican City. The documentary tells the story of the now beatified Juan Paul II’s visit in 1986 during one of the most difficult moments in Colombia’s history following the Armero natural disaster (the Nevado del Ruiz volcano in the center of the country erupted and released an avalanche of mud that wiped out an entire city, leaving behind more than 20,000 victims) and the wave of violence perpetrated by the drug cartels.
